What is eyelash extension, by the way?
Eyelash extensions are artificial permanent lashes (made out of tiny fibers that look similar to the eyelashes) attached to the original or natural lash hair. Are you confusing them with false eyelashes? Compared to false lashes, these semi-permanent extensions give the eyelashes a darker, longer, and fuller look for weeks. This eliminates daily removal and reapplication of the lashes.
Let’s look at how the eyelash extensions are applied.
The application process of eyelash extensions takes a minimum of 2 hours in a salon. The applicant can either recline back or sit in a comfortable environment while the process is initiated.
- Once you are settled in your seat, the beautician will softly cleanse your eyes
- After the area is properly cleaned and dried, surgical tape will be applied on the lower lashes so that the lower and upper lashes don’t get glued accidentally
- Using a tweezer or any other similar tool, the beautician would isolate your natural eyelashes
- Then after, a small drop of glue would be applied on the top eyelash and the artificial lash would be adhered to it
This process continues till both the eyelashes are completely covered. While the process is carried out, the beautician would request you to keep your eyes closed.
